Is CBD oil going to get me high?
NO! First of all, our CBD oil is made from hemp, which is legally only allowed to contain 0.3% or less of delta-9 THC (the cannabinoid responsible for getting people “high” when they use marijuana). This is not enough delta-9 THC to have any psychoactive effects whatsoever. More importantly, while our oil contains a trace amount of delta-9 THC, it is often not even detectable during testing (meaning it has less than 0.06% THC). As such, our oil has no psychoactive properties, and you will never get “high” from using it.
Why have delta-9 THC in your oil at all?
To improve the “entourage effect!” Even trace amounts of THC have been shown to improve the effectiveness and bioavailability of CBD and other beneficial cannabinoids, like CBG.
Will your CBD cause me to fail a drug test?
It’s highly unlikely. As we mentioned above, the amount of delta-9 THC in our oil is very small (less than 0.06%). That being said, due the wide range of test sensitivities in use for various applications (job screening, parole testing, etc.), we cannot guarantee that a given drug test would not pick up some trace amount of THC. Therefore, caveat emptor!
Why does your CBD oil taste and smell like hemp when others do not?
Because it’s the real deal! Many of our competitors use harsh chemical processes or solvents to strip out the cannabinoids they are looking to isolate (such as CBD, THC, etc.). This process also strips much of the plant material out of the mix, resulting in a largely flavorless and odorless product (You can read more about how other companies make what we call “FrankenCBD” HERE). Rather than being a sign of “purity,” this is often a sign that your oil has lost many beneficial flower components. Our process leaves the mad science behind and makes use of as much of the plant material as possible, meaning you get the taste and smell of those materials in your oil. In other words, it’s a good thing! That being said, if you find the taste is an issue for you or, more likely, your children, you can always add a few drops of essential oil (like menthol or orange) to the bottle.
How much should I use?
We have found it works well for people to start low and slow with a quarter dropperful of either strength, under your tongue, to get a sense of how it feels and interacts with your body. Add a quarter dropperful more at a time, either over the course of a day, or over several days. The acute dosage of CBD has been found to last six hours in the body, but in consistent use, it has been found that people need to use *less* not more to maintain the gains. Generally, if you are struggling with mild health issues, one dropperful per day of the 500 mg (full strength) will suffice for severe issues, customers have told us they have successfully used 2 dropperfuls of the 1000 mg (extra strength) twice a day. CBD has been found to be well tolerated up to 1500 mg a day for chronic use with few and mild side effects. More detailed instructions are shipped with each and every bottle!
